Creek Fencing Project in the Otway Ranges

Euroka Fencing completed waterway protection and flood management fencing works for the Corangamite Catchment Management Authority (CMA) at a property near the township of Forrest in Victoria’s Otway Ranges. 

Willow trees along the creek bank were removed, then our team installed the cattle fencing on both sides of the creek. In addition to a steel swing gate installation, the livestock fencing mostly consisted of seven plain galvanised wires that were stabilised by lightning fence droppers and steel star posts between treated pine post strainers. 

Preventing cattle from accessing the creek will protect the fragile creek banks from further damage and erosion. In spring, native trees will be planted to rehabilitate and protect this flood-prone waterway.
