Melbourne Water is actively combating erosion and silting in water reservoirs through their Healthy Waterways Strategy program. One of the main locations has been the Rowsley Valley and Yaloak Estate areas in central Victoria.

After the waterways are fenced off and weed control measures implemented, the waterways are planted out with a variety of native species. This helps stabilise the river banks but also minimises livestock disturbance of waterway sediment.

Euroka Fencing has been involved since 2009 with the Healthy Waterways Strategy. To date, we’ve installed over 30km of fencing. This program has been a great success for Melbourne Water and Yaloak Estate; reaching the initial goals and exceeding expectations.
